Second International Youth Language Festival

We're happy to announce that the Second International Youth Language Festival (www.ev100.ee/en/second-international-youth-language-festival) will be held at Laine hostel (http://lainekodu.ee) in Narva-Jõesuu, Estonia, on July 5-11, 2019. The event is organised in cooperation with IOL (International Linguistics Olympiad, www.ioling.org) and programmed as part of the Estonia 100 event list (events held to commemorate the centenary of the Republic of Estonia, www.ev100.ee).
The programme of the Festival will consist of several blocks of lectures, each block being devoted to a particular language, the total number of languages up to 12. All of them will be performed by professional linguists, some of them will at the same time be native speakers. Part of the lecturers will represent the IOL problem committee, others are practising linguists and teachers from the Universities in Russia, Estonia, Spain, Bulgaria, Brazil and, probably, some other countries.
The proposed age of the listeners is between 16 and 19 years old, that is similar to what an average IOL contestant is. Aiming at them we also plan to do one or several master-classes on solving linguistic problems (and, which can be even of bigger interest, on composing them).
The participation fee is 400 euro per participant, which includes accommodation, meals and the lecturing programme. Transfers from Tallinn and St. Petersburg can also be organized upon request.
The preliminary deadline for applications (to be sent to the address listed below, no special form needed  -  just name, surname date of birth and affiliation to your school) is 30 April 2019.
