Ola Paluszynska

An autobiography, with the help from Mrs. Glik

June 7, 1999

This is the story of me, Ola Paluszynska. When I was little, I almost sleeped all the time. When I was two, I wore my first underwear. When I was at the store, I met someone and we started being friends. I asked her, "Do you wear underwear?" Maybe when I was about five, I wasn't listening to my teacher. I was outside. There were kind of circles on the ground. I was walking by the circle and there was a puddle by it. I fell down by the puddle, and blood came out of my knee. When I was six, I started reading my first book. It was called "Green Eggs and Ham". When I was five and then I was six, I started thinking that my mom wasn't my real mom. She just stole me from someone else and just stole the pictures too. And then I thought my mommy was my real mom. And now I have a sister. She is in my mommy's tummy and will be born this week or next week or maybe the week after.

Mrs. Smith and Mrs. Edmonds are the best teachers in the world, and I didn't know that I could speak English that good. My first, first, first friend in St. Louis was Andrea.

I didn't know that when I was little, I asked someone: "Do you wear underwear?" I didn't know that I could be that silly to my daddy and that my daddy is silly. And I didn't know that we are going to have a new house. Then I started thinking that we're going to have a farm and have thousands of animals. And that my daddy asked: "Where are we going to buy all those animals?" Then I said: "We're not going to go to a store." And then my daddy asked: "How are we going to buy those animals?" Then I said: "The first day and the second day and the third day, we will go to a store and then go to the ocean and we will buy some orca whales and some dolphins and sea gulls. Then we are going to be happy." Then I'm going to go to the T.V. and then I'll be a movie star. And I didn't know that America has a Toys `R Us. I didn't know that America is not the best place in the world because it has tornadoes and Poland doesn't. So Poland is the best place in the world.

I was born in St. Louis, and I like it here. I've never seen a tornado, only on T.V. I didn't know that I had that much friends. And I didn't know that moms and dads are the best people in the world... and also friends. I didn't know that there was a Polish church in St. Louis. I hanging on didn't know that I would miss everyone in Poland. I wish I could be in both places.

When I am going to grow up, I'm gonna live in a huge huge farm. I'm going to have to pay thousands of dollars for that. When I was in Poland with my grandma, I catched small frogs. Sometimes I saw big frogs that scared me and my grandma. My daddy, he catched a huge frog and it peed on him. He catched a lot of big frogs, but only one peed on him.

I like to draw. I like to ride. I wish I could run two thousand and billion per second. I didn't know that I could read a story to Mrs. Edmonds. And I wish I didn't have to go to first grade. I think people like me because I like them too. And I didn't know that Romeo was a really good animal and that he could talk. And I didn't know that all my friends hurt themselves a lot. Do people like me? I don't know. I think they do, maybe some don't. I didn't know that there was such a thing as bench.

When I grow up, I'd like to be a movie star and dance with my boyfriend and kiss him on the lips... and do that even when I'm little. I'm thankful that we have a great big huge world and that the world will never crack open. I didn't know that if the rain rains, then the sun comes up, there is only sometimes a rainbow.

The End
