OPERATORS ON MARTINGALES,
-SUMMING OPERATORS, AND THE
CONTRACTION PRINCIPLE
Abstract: For the absolutely
-summing operators
between Banach spaces
and
we consider martingale inequalities of the type

where

is a martingale difference sequence and

is a
sequence of normalized functionals on

and we show that these inequalities are
useful in different directions. For example, for a Banach space

independent standard Gaussian variables

and

we deduce
that
